Master the art of preserving your Turkish towels with our product care tips.

What makes our towels special?

Factory-made Turkish towels are often made of bleached and over-processed fibers. Some even include polyester to obtain a luxury drape and initial softness.

Our 100% natural, sustainably made towels are handwoven from the highest quality, unprocessed cottons and linens.

Therefore it requires a small period of ‘breaking in’ to reveal their true softness and absorbency. Once this initial ‘breaking in’ is complete, your new towels will be real sunction monsters and they get even better and better with time and use.

Stonewashed Turkish Bath Towels

We recommend a pre-soak if you're not that lazy:)

Pre-soak in cold water for 4-6 hours. The full hydration of the fibers increases the absorbency of the towel.

Then wash it in washmachine. This will help remove any manufacturing residues and improve absorbency more.

Too hot water can weaken the fibers. Unlike normal towels, they do not need high heat for washing thanks to the structure of the weaving technique and cotton fibers.

Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners, as these can also damage the fibers and affect absorbency.

Drying & Ironing

Air drying is the best method for Turkish towels. Hang them on a line or a towel rack to allow them to dry naturally. Avoid using a high heat setting in the dryer, as it can cause shrinkage and damage the fabric. If you must use a dryer, choose a low-heat or no-heat setting.

You can iron your Turkish towel on a low heat setting if you prefer a smoother appearance, but many people appreciate the relaxed, slightly wrinkled look of Turkish towels.

Spoil your towel!

Store your Turkish towels in a dry place to prevent mildew. If they get damp, make sure they are completely dry before storing them to avoid odors and mold growth.

If your Turkish towel develops a loose thread or a small hole, you can usually repair it by carefully trimming the loose thread or using a needle and thread to mend any small tears.

If you spoil your towel this way you increase the lifespan of the textile and ensure that your towel serves you for decades in sauna, at the beach or in your bathroom. Just enjoy using them:)
